Insightly Now Available on the Go

A number of our customers have requested an iOS mobile app and we're pleased to announce that it's free and it's here -- download it today from the iTunes App Store.  So now all of you 'Insightophiles' you can easily access your customer information on the go.  With the new application, Insightly mobile users can:

  • Review, track and manage customers, contacts, opportunities, events and project status at any time
  • Add comments – including voice recordings and pictures – to any notes taken in the field when interacting with customers and partners
  • Use the “Call and Create Note” feature to automatically attach a note to the contact indicating that a call was made
Any changes to information in the iOS application are reflected in real time in the web version of Insightly, ensuring up to date and accurate information for everyone.  Try it and let us know what you think -- all feedback helps us improve.

  3. Not that much better than the existing mobile version. Faster but still falling very short. Very difficult to navigate. Only partial information is available (where are the files). Sorting of items is different than the web version (and date is not even displayed). It's just too small a subset to be usable really. I guess I will continue to use the desktop version on my phone...

  5. Its a good start.

The login is working but you need to select the google domain login option on the login page.

Notes are sorting alphabetically instead of chronologically.

  6. Beats me why people are so crazy about apps, when the same can be achieved with a web page. I am using the mobile version of insight.ly, and I love it (please, keep adding features that the full site has, like Milestone support). I hope that building apps won't take resources away from the mobile version.

  8. Thanks for a iOS app, much appreciated!
Here are some initial thoughts after using it for a few days.

    - Order completed task by completion date
    - Filter projects by status
    - Filter opportunities by status
    - Task default view should be NOT Done
    - Filter/Group Tasks by linked Project/Contact/Organisation
    - Logout should provide with a warning/confirmation
    - Filter view by last linked/accessed Organisation/Contact/Task
    - Add user responsible/created task

    Feature
    - multiple Google accounts

    Keep up the good work!

  9. +1 re Sanden. Particularly the filtering of opportunities - it show EVERY opportunity thats ever been created. Unusable that way.

I think its FAR better than the mobile web app. Much much faster. I can look up a contact and add a note much more easily. Still feels like a few extra clicks than it should be, but at least its usable (unlike the mobile app version of the same workstream)

In the note above its mentioned that one can easily add recordings etc to the note. I don't see that at all. I go to Contacts and I see Add New Task, Add New Event, Add New Link, and Notes. I click on Notes and I can add one, but thats it. Where is this other functionality?

I keep feeling that front screen should almost be like a table, each row should be an item (eg Task, Event, Link) and then the two columns should be - see item, add item. That way I can literally look up a name, and hit a button and then add a note super quickly.

Final general question. I really struggle with keeping up with people who I haven't spoken to for six months at least etc. I would love LOVE a filter where I could just say "show me everyone without a note made in the last six months" "ignore those with no notes". Filtering is a pain to use as you have to put specific dates in there. I've finally decided to use two solutions. GQueues for the tracking of time, and INsightly for the tracking of the details. Maybe someone else has a unified Insightly solution, but this ability to make sure that one's field is regularly watered is a key need that I would love to see addressed.

  10. Hi --

After you create a note you should open it and then choose 'add a comment'. Then you should see the option to add a file and you can create voice comment that will be added to the note. Feel free to reach out to our support folks if you need more information on this. Also our support folks maybe be able to offer a work around that may help address your 'filtering' question.

    Thanks

  11. Hi
It would be very useful if tasks could be filtered by category, for instance if I have a load of tasks categorised as phone calls it would be good if I could pull up all my "phone call" tasks when I am by the phone. (GTD style)

  12. What about Android? Considering it's got a 75% market share at this point I don't understand why companies continue to develop the iOS app first...

  15. I used this app, its performance was very decent, but app developers and architect could have spent more time on designing navigation for this app.
